Estancia Arroyo Verde
Traful River
Perched on the banks of the legendary Traful River, Estancia Arroyo Verde is a family-owned retreat offering unparalleled fly-fishing and relaxation. The Traful is famous for its clear waters, trophy-sized trout, and even landlocked salmon, making it a sought-after destination for anglers. Beyond the river, the estancia features stunning mountain views, open pastures, and cozy accommodations that invite you to unwind after a day on the water. At Estancia Arroyo Verde, every moment is steeped in the natural beauty and tranquility of Patagonia.

Located near Bariloche in northern Patagonia within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Estancia Arroyo Verde has been owned and operated by the Lariviere family for over 35 years. Guests at Arroyo Verde can enjoy exclusive access to the Traful River, which has been famous among pioneers of fly fishing in Patagonia like Joe Brooks, Mel Krieger, Ernest Schwiebert, and Jorge Trucco. The traditional wood and stone lodge overlooks the stunning river valley and crystal-clear Traful River. The lodge is surrounded by landscaped gardens, which have outside seating areas to enjoy the colorful sunsets over the valley. The main lodge features a sun-lounge, bar, living-room, and dining-room, all with fireplaces designed to create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere for guests. The Traful River meanders through a stunningly scenic valley of wind-and-water sculpted rock formations, situated between two lakes. This secluded region offers breathtaking views of the clear Lake Traful with the backdrop of the snow-capped Andes and verdant forests. The river is home to giant brown trout, massive rainbow trout, and landlocked Atlantic Salmon that migrate between the two lakes, making Estancia Arroyo Verde one of the premier fly fishing destinations in Patagonia for catching trophy-sized trout. FLY FISHING
The Aluminé River is renowned for its impressive dry fly fishing and prolific hatches, in addition to the opportunities for nymphs and streamer fishing, which can yield substantial rainbow and brown trout. The river’s banks are adorned with willows, creating an ideal environment for both aquatic and terrestrial insects. Its exquisite beauty is further enhanced by panoramic vistas, set against vivid canyon walls.

Estancia Quemquemtreu
Collin Cura River
Estancia Quemquemtreu offers access to the diverse waters of the Collon Cura River, renowned for its productive fishing and scenic charm. The estancia’s vast landscapes of rolling hills and meandering streams provide the perfect backdrop for a true Patagonian fly-fishing adventure. The skilled chef crafts classic Argentine meals each evening, served alongside fine local wines. San Huberto Lodge
Malleo River
Known as the birthplace of dry fly fishing in Patagonia, San Huberto Lodge is situated along the picturesque Malleo River. This family-run lodge offers exclusive access to private waters renowned for their clear flows and plentiful trout. With the Andes rising in the distance and the peaceful sounds of the river filling the air, the setting is as serene as it is scenic. San Huberto blends a rich fishing tradition with warm hospitality, making it a cherished destination for anglers from around the globe.

San Huberto Lodge offers an exceptional farm-to-table dining experience along with outstanding walk-and-wade fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout in northern Patagonia. The Olsen family owns and runs Estancia San Huberto, a sprawling 25,000-acre ranch that features extensive gardens and mouthwatering free-range beef and lamb perfectly paired with local Argentine Malbec. In fact, guests often return just to indulge in the incredible cuisine. Originally a hunting lodge named after “Saint Hubert”, the patron saint of hunters, the lodge was completely renovated in 1999 and now exclusively caters to fly fishing enthusiasts. San Huberto has 10 guest rooms that can accommodate up to 16 guests, with a maximum of 12 anglers. It’s also an excellent destination for non-anglers who enjoy relaxation and spacious living quarters. The upstairs fireplace is a favorite spot to unwind with a pisco-sour and swap tales of the day’s fishing triumphs.FLY FISHING
San Huberto Lodge provides exclusive access to 25 miles of the renowned Malleo River for its fishing guests. The river is mainly spring-fed, resulting in crystal clear waters that are ideal for sight fishing and offer reliable hatches, making it a great location for dry fly fishing. Furthermore, the river’s size is ideal for walk-and-wade fishing. Jorge Trucco played a significant role in introducing catch-and-release legislation for the Malleo in 1985, and as a result, the river has been protected for decades. The river boasts some of the highest trout populations in all of Patagonia, making it a fantastic destination for anglers of all skill levels.









Tipiliuke
Chimehuin River
Tipiliuke Lodge combines world-class fly-fishing on the legendary Chimehuin River with elegant comfort and personalized service. Nestled within a private estancia, the lodge provides access to miles of pristine waters teeming with rainbow and brown trout. The surrounding landscape is a mix of serene meadows, shady willows, and rugged mountain vistas, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for every cast. Tipiliuke Lodge offers more than fishing—it’s a place to connect with nature, enjoy gourmet dining, and create lasting memories in Patagonia’s wild beauty.

Tipiliuke is situated just a short 15-minute drive from the charming town of San Martin de los Andes, on the vast Estancia Cerro de los Pinos spanning 50,000 acres. The Larminat family, who established the working cattle ranch in 1909, continue to operate it today with the help of gauchos, some of whom are descendants of the original families. The ranch provides an authentic glimpse into the past. Tipiliuke is not only a great fly-fishing destination, but also an ideal retreat for non-angling guests. With horseback riding, hiking, shopping, and local sightseeing just a stone’s throw away, everyone can enjoy the experience. The lodge comfortably accommodates up to sixteen guests in en-suite rooms, with a maximum of twelve anglers. The living rooms and social areas are tastefully furnished, with a sauna, hot tub, and an outdoor fire pit to share stories and reminisce about the day’s catch.FLY FISHING
Tipiliuke Lodge guests can enjoy exclusive access to nine miles of the famous Chimehuin River and four miles of the Quilquihue River. The Chimehuin holds a special place in Patagonia’s fly fishing history, having been featured in Joe Brooks’ writing during the 1950s and 1960s. These rivers offer clear waters and consistent hatches, making dry flies, nymphs, and streamers all viable options throughout the season. Additionally, they are among the best rivers in Patagonia for wade fishing. Anglers can expect to catch resident rainbow and brown trout averaging between 14-20 inches, with trophy trout up to 30 inches being landed each season.










Tres Rios Lodge

Tres Rios Lodge, located on a secluded private estancia only 45 minutes from San Martin de los Andes, is one of the most isolated lodges in northern Patagonia, granting guests unparalleled access to pristine, lesser-known sections of the Chimehuin and Collón Cura Rivers. Nestled on a bluff overlooking the confluence of these rivers, the lodge boasts breathtaking views. Completely off-grid, Tres Rios is powered by solar panels and windmills. With only eight double occupancy rooms, the lodge offers an intimate and personalized experience. The beautiful living room and bar area, dining room, and separate building for asados around an open fire provide guests with the ultimate comfort. The lodge prides itself on its exceptional service, offering guests a welcoming and familial atmosphere.
FLY FISHING
Tres Rios fishing guests relish the privilege of exclusive access to ten miles of the prime and highly productive stretches of Chimehuin River, which offer abundant opportunities for both wading and floating. Uninformed, resident rainbow and brown trout can be enticed by various angling techniques, including dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. The location is a solitary fishing haven with rare sightings of fellow anglers. Productive segments of Collón Cura River are within easy reach, as are several lagunas reputed to harbor massive trout
