Josh Gallivan

From Jackson Hole Wyoming, Josh Gallivan is a seasoned fly fishing guide with two decades of professional experience. He began his career at the legendary Jack Dennis Outdoor Shop, where he learned from some of the most respected names in the industry, and today serves as Head Guide with Grand Teton Fly Fishing, specializing in the Snake River’s native cutthroat trout.

Josh’s dedication to the sport has earned him recognition in competitive fly fishing as well. He was the winner of the Jackson Hole One Fly in 2015 and honored as the recipient of the Cohen-Carmichael-Morton Award at the 2023 Jackson Hole One Fly, achievements that highlight both his skill on the water and his commitment to the angling community.

His passion for fly fishing extends far beyond his home waters. Josh’s sense of adventure has taken him to remote and iconic fisheries across the globe—from the flats of Cuba and Belize to the atolls of Tahiti and the rivers of Patagonia, sometimes for months on end. These journeys not only sharpened his technical skills but also deepened his appreciation for the cultural and conservation aspects of the sport.

Known for his enthusiasm, patience, and deep knowledge of angling, Josh has built a loyal following of repeat clients who value the unforgettable experiences he creates on the water. Beyond guiding, he is the founder of Fly Odyssey USA, a travel company specializing in curated fly fishing adventures worldwide. As both a guide and travel advisor, he is committed to connecting anglers with the best destinations, lodges, and outfitters while advocating for the conservation of wild fisheries.

Whether guiding a beginner on their first cast or traveling with seasoned anglers in pursuit of bucket-list species, Josh embodies a lifelong dedication to fly fishing as a sport, a passion, and a way of life.
