Kay Fly Fishing Lodge

Situated on the southern perimeter of the Yucatan Peninsula, approximately 100 miles south of Cancun, within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, Ascension Bay lives up to its renown as one of the global hubs for inshore fly fishing. The bay’s translucent flats, tidal channels, and mangrove coastlines create an ideal ecosystem for the grand slam species of permit, tarpon, and bonefish to congregate, along with snook, snapper, barracuda, jacks, and more. Fishing experiences may vary with the seasons, but the quality remains excellent year-round. The Kay Fly Lodge provides seamless access to the diverse range of fishing opportunities Ascension Bay offers, all just moments from your doorstep.
The Kay Fly Lodge is owned and operated by Jose Ucan, a lifelong Punta Allen native, Tournament Champion, and Lily Bertram, boasting over 18 years of experience managing Ascension Bay lodges.
At Kay Fly, their specialty lies in fly fishing, with a focus on creating some of the most incredible fly-fishing experiences in their guests’ lives. Ascension Bay is particularly renowned for its permit, bonefish, and tarpon fishery. Each morning, a short 50-foot walk from your cabin leads you to your panga, kicking off your day of fishing. This fishery is renowned globally for providing outstanding opportunities for saltwater fly fishing and the chance to aim for a super-slam almost year-round.
While it’s not guaranteed that you’ll hook a bonefish, permit, tarpon, and snook every single day, these game fish are consistently present throughout the year.
