Copal Tree Lodge is an angler’s paradise, located on the Rio Grande just a few minutes upstream from the Caribbean Sea. The highly trained guides cater to both experienced and novice anglers, offering an unforgettable fishing experience.
While permit fishing is a favorite among anglers, there are plenty of other species to target, such as tarpon, bonefish, and snook. Fish for tarpon and snook in the river and mangroves, try your luck on the flats for permit, or head to the white sand beaches for bonefish when the weather is right.
Most of the fishing takes place in protected marine reserves and national parks, ensuring healthy populations of fish.
The local guides are patient and professional, and will customize your fishing adventure to your preference and style. Half-day and full-day tours are available, so you can make the most of your time on the water.
TRAVEL PLAN
To reach Copal Tree Lodge, you can take an international flight to Belize City’s Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) via several major airlines such as American Airlines, United, and Delta. From there, it’s recommended to arrive before 2:30 p.m. to catch a connecting flight to Punta Gorda, which will be arranged by the lodge through Tropic Air. Please note that your round-trip flights between BZE and Punta Gorda are not included in your trip package, but assistance can be provided.
