Our journey has taken us to many incredible spots over the last two weeks. We drove up the west coast to see the retreating glaciers, we shot guns with the mayor, we stayed in a neat little cottage, we got our van stuck in sand and had to flag someone down in a rain and sandfly infested typhoon, we golfed, we have fished a lot, we woke up to an earthquake one morning, we have slept under the stars and made beer can burgers, we read most nights and get good sleep, and once in a while we even eat a nice meal. It’s important to meet life head on.
I got news that my good friends the Melville’s, who I sailed across the atlantic ocean with last year had just made it to NZ and were on the dock in Nelson at the top of the south island. Before dropping my cousins off in Blenheim for their bus ride to christchurch we made our way to the port to see them. I was so excited to see them as they have been sailing for the last year across all of the pacific ocean including little atolls such as the Galapagos, Fiji, Tonga, French Polynesia, etc. the list goes on and on. We had a great time together last year and really had a tough crossing and bonded as friends.
